Greg Edwards Named 2006 Langley Speedway Track Champion

Greg Edwards, a native of Poquoson, VA, returned to Langley Speedway in 2006 with his sights set on winning the Track Championship but he knew it wouldn’t be easy. After touring with the ASA Series, Edwards returned to his home track at Langley Speedway mid-season of 2004 after the ASA demised. Finishing the 2005 season in third place, Edwards was determined to win the Championship in 2006. During the season opener, Greg broke his own track record which he had set in 2005 but then his car blew a radiator hose during the first race putting him in tenth for the finish. It wasn’t long before he made his way to lead in the track points and he held on for the lead for five races until he dropped to second after the rear-end plug came out during the ninth race of the season. Six races later and Greg was back in the lead which he held on to until the very end.  more...
